The Department of English has been functioning from the opening of this college in September 1995. In the beginning there were few students and only one temporary faculty member. Dr. B.B Rajurkar joined the college on 01/12/ 1999 and Dr. Rajiv N Aherkar joined the college on 06/ 12/ 1999. In academic year 2011-12, Mr. B.B. Rajurkar had to leave the college due to student strength problem. Dr. Rajiv N Aherkar is the only faculty in the department till date. Our college is located in socially, economically and educationally weaker area where students are rural oriented and are not well prepared. They are poor in reading, writing and thinking. They do not have expression ability; it ultimately affects the academic performance and their interest in the subject like English. For them English Language is foreign language. Hence, it is necessary to change the attitude of the rural students. The Department of English is performing in Research activities. The department is continuously guiding and promoting to the students for various competitive examination like NET, SET, MPSC, Staff selection, Banking etc.
